A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE INGOMAR HIGH SCHOOL FALCONS BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING 1998-1999 SEASON AND FOR WINNING THE DISTRICT 2 CLASS 1A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

WHEREAS, the Ingomar High School Falcons Boys Basketball Team finished the 1998-1999 season with an outstanding record of 34 wins and only six losses; and

WHEREAS, throughout the Falcons' season, they won several tournaments, including the Ingomar Invitational Tournament, the Pontotoc Invitational Tournament and the District 2 Class 1A State Championship; and

WHEREAS, the Falcons have been superbly coached and inspired by Head Coach Norris Ashley and Assistant Coach Chris Kidd, who have broadened the players knowledge of the game and refined their skills in execution; and

WHEREAS, many individual honors have been bestowed upon the players, including: the naming of Trent Adair to the All-State Team, the All-North Half Team, the All-Division Team and the All-Star Team; the selection of Jeff McCutchen to the All-State Team and the All-North Half Team; the naming of Willie Siddell to the All-State Team, the All-North Team and the All-Division Team; and the selection of Joel Clayton to the All-Division Team; and

WHEREAS, the Falcons have developed a winning and cooperative spirit and a high degree of sportsmanship, and their activities and attitude reflect great credit upon the individual players and their coach and bring honor to Ingomar High School; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend excellence, especially when evidenced by the young people of our state, who are its future:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Ingomar High School Falcons Boys Basketball Team and Head Coach Norris Ashley and Assistant Coach Chris Kidd for their outstanding 1998-1999 season, for winning the District 2 Class 1A State Championship and for displaying tireless devotion to their athletic endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished Ingomar High School, Head Coach Norris Ashley and Assistant Coach Chris Kidd and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
